The American choreographer Peter Chu has a background in artistic gymnastics, loves Asian martial arts and was a show dancer with Celine Dion after graduating from the Juilliard School in New York. Since 2017, he has been choreographing for his Las Vegas-based group chuthis and other companies, as well as for Cirque du Soleil. He loves to indulge in new experiences and finds this feeling "magical".
Chu's dance language is acrobatic and powerful, incorporates classical and street dance influences and abruptly alternates between maximum tension and letting go of the body, which then flows onto the floor like water and can be dragged away without resistance. Sometimes there are also dynamic chain reactions in which the momentum of the movement is passed from dancer to dancer.
Peter Chu is committed to artistic change, from which he draws his creativity. He loves it when energy and vitality are in a cycle, loves it when two bodies communicate with each other through breath and feeling. When they allow themselves to drift at a certain point and surrender to the movement, the dance becomes magic.
